Idea: To have the hadoop (the ligth-version) up and running
Background: https://hadoop.apache.org/
Downloads: A virtual box from Oracle https://www.virtualbox.org/
Choose the appropriate pakages (VirtualBox platform packages) for your OS.
You will properbly not need the 'VirtualBox 5.0.14 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack', which is for USB and clipboard support.
Downloads: Caution the file is 11 GB i.e. this take a long time to download.
An image for the virtualbox https://hortonworks.com/downloads/ - the theacher have the file on an usb-key.
Open virtualbox - import OVA file (File-> import applience -> "choose your file")
Configuration before start import:
Then It should work.
When logging in (through ambari) use username 'maria_dev' and password 'maria_dev'
